DON'T expect La Salle women's volleyball coach Ramil de Jesus to be casting a vote for former Lady Spikers star Michele Gumabao in the hit reality show 'Pinoy Big Brother.'
If he has his way, de Jesus said he is hoping for the volleyball star's early eviction from the 'Bahay ni Kuya' so she can rejoin Air Asia in time for its debut in the new Philippine Superliga season.
De Jesus also happens to be the coach of the Flying Spikers, who are mostly composed of former and current La Salle players led by ace hitter and solid blocker Gumabao.
But unless she voluntarily leaves the PBB house or gets evicted by the voting public, the 22-year-old athlete and celebrity endorser won't be able to suit up for the team.
No wonder De Jesus is hoping for Gumabao’s early eviction.
"Pinagdadasal nga namin na ma-evict na siya," De Jesus kidded. "Nasa lineup naman siya so hopefully makalabas na siya ng maaga."
The Flying Spikers, one of the favorites in the second season of the league, will make their debut on Friday against Cagayan Valley in the 4 p.m. game at the Cuneta Astrodome.
In Gumabao's likely absence, second overall draft pick Aby Maraño, Stephanie Mercado, Maureen Penetrante-Ouano, Wensh Tiu and Cha Cruz will have to lead the way for Air Asia.
