LA SALLE libero Melissa Gohing has clarified that she is not part of the Philippine national women’s volleyball pool as earlier reported.
“That’s not true,” Gohing said when asked about her supposed inclusion in the national pool.
Gohing said she didn’t participate in any national pool tryouts organized by suspended Philippine Volleyball Federation officials Dr. Ian Laurel and Vangie De Jesus.
“I’ve already explained on my Twitter (account) that I didn’t go to any tryouts, conference, or press conference,” Gohing explained.
The La Salle libero said that there are also several players on the list that didn't attend tryouts.
“Marami rin players na sinama (sa list) pero hindi kasama (sa tryouts). Maybe mali or false,” said Gohing.
Gohing recently helped De La Salle to its third consecutive UAAP women’s volleyball crown after sweeping Ateneo in the best-of-three championship series.
Season 75 was the last playing year for the 21-year-old libero.
Gohing was listed as one of the 33 players in the women’s national pool that are being primed to compete in three international competitions like the Myanmar Southeast Asian Games.
The pool, however, isn't sanctioned by the PVF, which has bared plans to form its own pool of players.
