LA SALLE looks to notch its 10th win in as many matches this season, 26th straight overall dating back to last year, and give coach Rami de Jesus his 200th victory with the squad when it takes on Far Eastern University in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
The DLSU Lady Spikers and the FEU Lady Tams face off at 4 p.m.
“Magandang motivation iyon sa team dahil alam namin na masayang balita 'yan para kay coach,” said team captain Aby Maraño.
“Syempre pinaghirapan ito ng team lahat talaga nagti-tyaga at nagtitiis sa lahat sa ensayo," she added. “Kaya naman masasabi kong mas higit na well motivated ang lahat sa amin ngayon lalo na't four-peat ang inaasam namin maipanalo.”
De Jesus enters the match with a total win-loss record of 199-49 in 15 years for the Taft-based squad.
Maraño is again expected to lead the way for the La Salle squad, along with Mika Reyes, Ara Galang, Cyd Demecillo and ace setter Kim Fajardo.
FEU, which holds a 5-4 record, will rely on the offense of hard-hitting rookie Bernadette Pons and the blocking of Mary Palma and Geneveve Casugod.
Meanwhile, Adamson clash with University of the East at 2 p.m.
Bhebs Pineda, Mayeth Zapanta and Amanda Villanueva will lead the Lady Falcons (4-5) against the winless Lady Warriors (0-9).
