LA SALLE scored its second win and handed National University its first loss in the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference, 26-24, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22, on Monday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Raymark Woo once again led the way for the Green Spikers (2-1), unloading 19 points, while Cris Dumago added 18 markers, and Arjay Onia scored 13.
It was NU’s first loss in three matches.
“Marami pa talaga kaming kailangan baguhin at i-ensayo pero masaya pa rin ako sa pinakita nila,” said La Salle coach Nes Pamilar.
The Green Spikers managed to take an early lead in the fourth set, leading by as many as six, but the Bulldogs’ cut the deficit to one, 21-22.
Woo and Rafael Del Pilar’s late-game heroics prevented the Bulldogs from extending the match to a fifth set.
“Kailangan sa lahat ng mga susunod na kalaban, ganito rin ang ipakita namin at pag-ensayuhan pa namin lalo,” Pamilar added.
Bryan Bagunas led the Bulldogs with 21 point, Madzlan Gampong added 15 markers and Ismail Fauzi added 10.
The Green Spikers next face the Philippine Merchant Marine School, while the Bulldogs try to bounce back against College of Saint Benilde.
