Ateneo gains share of lead, La Salle keeps slim semis hopes alive in UAAP volleyball

ATENEO scored a big win to gain a share of first place, while La Salle kept alive its semifinal hopes in the UAAP Season 80 men’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Blue Eagles dominated University of Sto. Tomas, 25-11, 25-21, 25-21, to join National University in first place at 10-2.

Mark Espejo and Ron Medalla tallied 15 points each, while Gian Carlo Glorioso added 13 points for Ateneo.

UST fell to 5-7.

The Green Spikers defeated University of the Philippines, 25-22, 25-23, 25-20, to keep its Final Four hopes alive.

La Salle improved to 5-8, a game and a hialf behind fourth-place Adamson at 6-6.

John Arjay Onia had 20 points, while Raymark Woo had 14 points for the Green Spikers.

John Mark Millette had 18 points for the Fighting Maroons, who skidded to 3-10.
