    Dindin Santiago injury a dampener as Foton survives scare from Sta. Lucia in PSL

    FOTON survived a scare from newcomer Sta. Lucia, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-11, to complete the cast in the next round of the Belo-Philippine Super Liga Invitational Conference on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.

    Grethcel Soltones finished with 22 points for the Tornadoes, while Dindin Santiago-Manabat added 20 points but was unable to finish the game after twisting her knee after an off-the-block attack.

    Maika Ortiz chipped in 17 for Foton, which, at 3-2, secured third spot behind Cignal (4-1) and Petron (5-0) and gained first crack at guest team Kobe Shinwa University of Japan on March 30.

    The Tornadoes had more attacks (62-47) and scored more service aces (13-5) in a match that took two hours and 16 minutes to finish.

    Lourdes Clemente had 16 points for Sta. Lucia, which remained winless in five outings.
