Diligent 'Angge' wins praise from coach as Suns remain perfect

    Aug 30, 2013

CAGAYAN Valley remained unbeaten in the Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference after sinking Philippine Navy, 25-12, 25-12, 25-16, at The Arena in San Juan on Friday.

All but two players who were fielded in scored for the Lady Rising Suns, who completed the job in just 61 minutes.

Team captain Angge Tabaquero and Aiza Maizo came away with 13 and 12 points, respectively, in leading Cagayan to a third straight win for the solo lead in the tournament.

“Malaki ang improvement ni Angge kumpara sa ibang tournaments na sinalihan niya in the past, masipag kasi mag-ensayo hindi nag-a-absent,” said Cagayan coach Nes Pamilar of his skipper.

“Ang sabi ko naman kasi sa kanila one game at a time lang,” added the Cagayan coach. “Kung sino ang susunod na kalaban, paghandaan, 'yun lang.”

The Lady Rising Suns raced to a commanding 12-3 lead early in the third and never looked back from there as Tabaquero ended the Lady Sailors' misery with a kill for the win.

Cecille Cruzada had six points for Navy (0-1).
