STAR-studded BaliPure brought a familiar face in decorated Thai veteran Jeng Bualee to power its campaign in the Premier Volleyball League, which kicks off on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.
The high-scoring spiker is no stranger to the Philippines as she reunites with head coach Roger Gorayeb after teaming up in the past seasons when she became a perennial import for San Sebastian College.
The 33-year old prolific hitter last played in the PVL (formerly Shakey’s V-League) in Season 10 First Conference when she reinforced Ateneo together with Rachel Anne Daquis, Alyssa Valdez and Fille Cainglet-Cayetano.
She has won one title, six Best Scorer awards, two conference MVPs, two Finals MVP plums, two Best Attacker awards and a Best Digger honor.
Bualee joins American Jennifer Keddy as the BaliPure squad’s reinforcements.
Keddy, a middle blocker, also played for club team Kralovo Pole BRNO in the Confederation of European Volleyball Challenge Cup.
Gorayeb will also pin his hopes on his local wards from National University and San Sebastian College.
NU standouts Jasmine Nabor, Risa Sato, Aiko Urdas and Jorelle Singh will be teaming up with SSC stars Grethcel Saltones and Alyssa Eroa.
BaliPure will face Philippine Air Force in the conference opener.
