LA Salle stalwart Kim Dy replaced Rachel Anne Daquis in the Philippine women's volleyball team that will see action in the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in August.
Head coach Francis Vicente was happy that Dy, who was cut from the pool, is back in the lineup after Daquis withdrew from the team on Thursday night.
"Syempre very happy," said Vicente. "Masaya ako kasi nakabalik siya."
The veteran mentor said in a previous interview that not naming Dy as part of the national pool was the hardest decision he had to make.
Vicente bared that he had no clue why Daquis withdrew from the women’s national team as he revealed that former FEU standout has not talked to him regarding her decision
The Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. announced on Friday that the veteran outside hitter will be replaced by Dy.
“Alam ko nagpaalam siya sa LVPI pero as of now hindi ko masasagot ‘yan (Daquis’ reason),” he said.
“Wala pa akong natatanggap na kahit na ano (from Daquis) and hindi pa (kami nakakapag-usap),” he added.
Meanwhile, the women’s national team will fly to Japan for training from July 17-August 2.
