FAR from her usual cheerful and jolly self, RC Cola Army open spiker Rachel Anne Daquis broke into tears during the post-game interview of the Philippine Super Liga All Filipino Conference at the Cuneta Astrodome on Thursday.

Daquis, along with teammate Jovelyn Gonzaga, was named to be part of the PSL All Star team that will compete in the FIVB World Club Women's Championship on October 18 to 23 at the MOA Arena.

But as grateful as she is, the volleyball darling suddenly became emotional.

As soon as PSL president Tats Suzara and chairman Popoy Juico made the announcement, positive comments poured on social media. But Daquis also took note of remarks posted online, saying that there were more deserving open spikers than her.

"Syempre we cannot please everyone," explained Daquis on her sudden emotional outburst.

But the former Far Eastern University ace vowed to prove her haters wrong.

"So for me, as an athlete, syempre ita-try ko ang best ko. Magte-train akong mabuti para mawala 'yung mga doubt na pinapakita nila sa akin na mga naririnig ko sa ibang tao," she said.
