COLLEGE of St. Benilde is bracing for a tough challenge against University of the Philippines in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Monday at The Arena in San Juan.
CSB coach Macky Carino stressed that facing a UAAP team will be a huge test as they try to end a two-match skid.
UP, on the other hand, looks to make it two straight wins after defeating Technological Institute of the Philippines. The Lady Maroons hold an even 1-1 win-loss card in Group B.
The match starts at 4 p.m.
“Panibagong challenge for us kasi UAAP teams naman ang kalaban namin, mas isipin namin na kailangan pa ding taas ang level ng laro at piliting makasabay sa kalaban,” said Carino.
The Lady Blazers, winner of the NCAA women’s volleyball title two years ago, next take on Adamson University and Technological Institute of the Philippines.
“Wala namang imposible dyan basta gusto mo at gusto ng team manalo, ‘yan ang iniwan kong message sa kanila,” he added.
“Yung pagkatalo sa dalawang NCAA ‘yun ‘yung magiging challenge for my team na mag-ensayo at magpugsige sa laban,” said Carino.
NCAA women’s volleyball champion Arellano University (2-1) takes on winless TIP (0-3) at 6:30 p.m.
