COLLEGE of St. Benilde beat Philippine Merchant Marine School, 25-17, 32-30, 29-27, in a battle of winless squads on Monday in the Spikers Turf Collegiate Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Johnvic de Guzman scored 17, Isaiah Arda added 14 points and Francis Basilan chipped in with nine markers to give the Blazers their first win in five matches.
"Eto yung time na nagexperiment kami," said Blazers head coach Arnold Laniog.
"Hinahanap namin yung right position dun sa capabilities ng players namin."
Erickson Chan and Ronel Fortaleza scored 12 points each and Keyvin Premaylon added 10 as the Mariners bowed out of the Spikers Turf winless in five outings.
