CRIS Dumago, John Onia and two other Archers scored in double figures as De La Salle University whipped La Salle-Dasmarinas, 25-17, 25-18, 25-22, on Wednesday to boost its quarterfinal bid in the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Dumago and Onia had 12 points each, while Rafael del Pilar and skipper Raymark Woo added 11 apiece as the Green Archers improved their win-loss record to 2-1 card and forced a three-way tie with University of the Philippines and College of St. Benilde for second spot in Group B behind Ateneo (3-0).
It was the second straight win for the Archers, defeating Arellano after an opening-day loss to Ateneo.
La Salle coach Ronald Dulay, however, noted the Archers could do better than the one hour and 12 minutes performance.
“Kailangan pa namin magpursige at mag-ensayo sa lalo na sa blocking,” said Dulay, whose wards had four blocks compared to the Dasmarinas boys’ seven.
La Salle had more digs, 16-8, and excellent sets, 17-10.
Eddimar Kasim finished with 13 points for La Salle-Dasmarinas, who are winless in three matches and share fifth spot with Arellano.
