IS Oliver Almadro no longer part of the Strong Group Athletics (SGA) stable?
That seems to be the case after SPIN.ph learned that Almadro has parted ways with both the University of the Philippines and Letran women's volleyball teams, both being backed by Frank Lao's SGA.
The champion coach joined the Fighting Maroons in February 2024 as volleyball program head and was then tabbed to be head coach as well for UAAP Season 86. That lone season at the helm turned out to be a rough one, with State U finishing last with a 1–13 record.
He continued in his post as program head, even as UP moved in a different direction in coaching for Season 87, naming Benson Bocboc as shot-caller before turning over the reins to Italian Fabio Menta for Season 88.

Almadro's departure from Diliman comes on the heels of another exit, as he was earlier dislodged as Letran head coach, with Mayette Carolino taking over the Lady Knights program.
Like with the Fighting Maroons, he held dual roles in Intramuros as both mentor and program director.
Now, however, it appears his dual roles under the SGA-sponsored programs have concluded.

At one point, Almadro was actually juggling responsibilities across three teams, including Petro Gazz in the PVL, where he also served as head coach and head of volleyball operations before the Angels took a leave of absence earlier this year.
