CIGNAL might play in the finals of the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference without star skipper Ysay Marasigan as he and his Ateneo Blue Eagles teammates are set to leave for Singapore for the 2016 Asean University Games on July 9 to 19.
“Before pa lang sinabi ko na dun ako sasama kung may conflict (schedule),” Marasigan said. “Magsi-Singapore ako kasi it’s planned na siya last last year pa nung nag-first championship kami.”
The UAAP Season 78 Finals MVP, however, said there is still a possibility that he could still play in the finals as negotiations are underway for rescheduling of games from its orginal schedule on July 13, 16, and 18.
“So ngayon ginagawan ng paraan, mag-uusap pa daw sila,” Marasigan said, referring to Spikers’ Turf management and Cignal coaching staff.
If ever he won’t be able to suit up for Cignal, Marasigan is still confident that his team will deliver for the finals.
"Nandyan naman si (Jeffrey) Lansangan, dalawa naman kaming tumitira, malalim naman yun bench ng Cignal. Kayang kaya nila,” he added. Gabriel Pe
