CIGNAL secured the first finals berth in the Spikers’ Turf Season 1 Reinforced Conference after overcoming PLDT Home Ultera's tough stand, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 11-25, 15-8, at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.
Lorenzo Capate Jr. poured in 26 points for the HD Spikers while Herschel Ramos chipped in 12, Edmar Bonono added 11, and Jeffrey Lansangan contributed 10.
After struggling in the fourth set, Cignal leaned on a strong start to the final set to take an 8-4 lead which it never relinquished en route to the win that took two hours and 16 minutes to finish.
Cignal will face the winner of the other semis pairing between top-seed Philippine Air Force and Philippine Navy.
Mark Alfafara had a game-high 28 points for PLDT Home Ultera, while Ron Jay Galang had 17, Henry Pecana made 12, and Peter Torres finished with 11.
