CHERY Tiggo rose to solo second with its third win in four games after knocking Army from playoff contention, 25-16, 25-14, 26-28, 25-15, in the 2024 PNVF Champions League on Thursday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
A pair of huge scoring outbursts from EJ Laure (21 points) and Shaya Adorador (20 points) steered the Crossovers to the semifinals of the preseason tilt.

"Well, na-secure namin yung No. 2 (seed) pero still, magma-matter dito yung bakbakan sa semifinals kasi wala namang twice-to-beat advantage. Ranking lang ang labanan. So ngayon, ito bakbakan sigurado ang Benilde at Petro Gazz kasi walang gustong lumaban sa Cignal for sure na na-dominate yung eliminations.

"Whatever it is, naka-ready kami. Sino manalo dyan, for sure rank 3. So talagang yung semifinals ang pinakaabangan ng lahat," Chery Tiggo deputy coach Kungfu Reyes said.
With a fine mix of veterans and young blood at his disposal, Reyes is liking the 'work in progress' taken by the Crossovers to build their chemistry in so short a time before the Premier Volleyball League begins its 2024 season in two weeks' time.
"Maganda naman. Tulad ng sinabi namin nung nakaraan, tina-trabaho pa namin ‘yung chemistry. Yung connection ng spiker at setter, lahat sa team. Yun ang tinitingnan namin papasok ng semis. Magandang indication na nakapagpahinga ‘yung ibang tao namin kasi very tight yung scheduling," Reyes said.
"Ready naman kami sa mga ganitong pagkakataon. Kung sino pinaka-
nakakundisyon at nakapagpahinga, for sure ‘yun ang magiging magandang performance," he added.
