SAN Beda College survived an error-plagued match to defeat Lyceum, 22-25, 19-25, 25-11, 25-17, 15-7, in the NCAA Season 93 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Skipper Cesca Racraquin finished with 26 points, 14 digs and nine excellent receptions for the Lady Red Spikers, who had 40 errors in the match that took an hour and 45 minutes to finish.
San Beda also scored 29 points on Lady Pirates errors.
Nieza Viray also had 13 points for SBC as it remained unbeaten in six games to gain a share of the lead with defending champion Arellano University.
The Mendiola-based squad also capitalized on Lyceum’s poor first ball reception as it registered 20 service aces compared to the Lady Pirates’ five.
Monica Sevilla made 13 points for Lyceum, while Christine Miralles added 11 and team captain Bien Juanilo had 10 as the Lady Pirates slid to 1-5 at the eighth spot.
