CREAMLINE fought back from a set down and recovered from 10-point deficit in the fourth to beat BanKo-Perlas, 21-25, 25-22, 26-24, 28-26, on Sunday and stay unscathed in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Cesca Racraquin tallied 23 points to lead the Cool Smashers, Rosemarie Vargas added 16 and Pau Soriano chipped in 12.
The top-seeded Cool Smashers and will face the No. 4 seed in the best-of-three semifinals.
Creamline trailed, 7-17, in the fourth but coolly fought back, scoring nine straight to take control and compete a seven-match sweep of the eliminations.
The Cool Smashers have been without Alyssa Valdez for the past three straight matches as the former UAAP star trains in Japan with the Philippine women’s volleyball team in preparation for the Southweast Asian Games.
“It just shows na most of our players are really talented na ‘di lang kami dadalhin ni Alyssa, she’s our leader but other players will step up,” said Creamline assistant coach Oliver Almadro.
“‘Yung resiliency nakabalik, nakita ko si coach Tai (Bundit, Creamline head coach) active na active and binu-boost niya ang morale ng team, effective naman kaya sa dulo ginanahan sila,” said Almadro.
Kathy Bersola scored 22 points, Ella de Jesus added 13 and Sue Roces chipped in 10 for BanKo-Perlas.
The Spikers suffered their fourth loss in seven outings and bowed out of the tournament.
