RAMON 'Tats' Suzara is no longer interested in pursuing a third term as president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).
But that doesn’t mean he’s stepping away from the national federation entirely.
SPIN.ph has learned that Suzara’s camp is eyeing a move to install the concurrent Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) chief as the next PNVF chair — a post just below the presidency he held for the last four years.

This development leaves the presidential race down to two figures: honorary chairman and Philippine Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and incumbent board member Tony Boy Liao.
Electing the next PNVF leadership won’t simply be a matter of raising hands.
On Friday during the general assembly at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, the federation’s 48 stakeholders will each select 13 names from among themselves.
The top 13 vote-getters — drawn from a pool of 624 total votes — will form the PNVF Executive Board for the 2025–2027 term.
From there, the board will hold a final vote to elect the next president, chairman, vice president, secretary-general, treasurer, and auditor.

The remaining names from the pool of 13 executives will serve as board members.
Liao, Cayetano's levels of support
Liao reportedly has the backing of the PNVF’s current commercial sponsors should he be appointed the next president.
Cayetano, however, is considered the de facto administration bet and has expressed willingness to assume the presidency should he secure enough votes.
