INJURED De La Salle Lady Spiker Camille Cruz said she has no plan to retire after suffering yet another ACL injury during the recently-concluded women's volleyball championship series of UAAP Season 77.

Cruz suffered yet another setback to her volleyball career, sustaining an ACL tear in his right knee — her third in an injury-riddled career - during the Lady Spikers' loss to repeat champion Ateneo in the finals.

Still, Cruz said she still has two more playing years with La Salle and she is open to returning to the team once she is healthy again.

“Hindi ko kino-close ‘yung door ko,” Cruz said in a brief interview with Spin.ph right after the end of the finals series.

In Game One of the UAAP finals series, Cruz landed awkwardly in the third set of their tussle against the Lady Eagles, joining Ara Galang on the injured list. Galang sustained tears in her ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus on her left knee and the team is looking at a recovery period of six to eight months.

As for the finals series, Cruz said she was proud to see undermanned Lady Spikers put up a fight, taking control in several instances in Game Two before being swept in straight sets by the Lady Eagles.

“It’s been a journey for all of us. Nakita ko pa lang sa training na hindi sila nag-gi-give up. Pinakita nila na hindi sila basta bumigay sa laban. ‘Yun ‘yung nakakatuwa sa laro nila,” Cruz said.
