BRYAN Bagunas showed the way as National University defeated University of Sto. Tomas, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-18, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 79 volleyball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.
Bagunas scored 23 as the Bulldogs improved their win-loss record to 7-1 behind back-to-back champion Ateneo (8-0).
“Matagal na naming ginagamot ‘yan, every time na lang na may game kami para kaming diesel na kailangan munang mag-init bago maglaro ng mga players ko,” said NU coach Dante Alinsunurin.
“Nag-a-adjust naman kami para sa next game namin maging mas maganda ang simula namin,” he added.
Fauzi Ismail had 15 points, while Kim Malabunga and Francis Saura finished with nine markers each for NU.
Jerico Jose and Manuel Medina scored 12 points, while Arnold Bautista contributed 10 markers as apiece for UST, which suffered its fifth loss in eight matches.
