BOUNTY Fresh ended its Spikers’ Turf campaign on a bright note, edging Philippine Navy, 20-25, 25-14, 17-25, 25-22, 19-17, in a battle of also-rans on Saturday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Philip Michael Bagalay scored 20 points, while Romnick Rico had 13 marks as the Soaring Griffins scored their only victory in five matches.
It was a huge win for Bountry Fresh, especially since they were without coach Fritz Santos, with assistant coach JP De Guzman calling the shots.
“Sabi ko sa kanila na last game na ito, ibigay na nila lahat. Iredeem namin ang sarili natin since yung previous games naming five sets, nangyari na ito, kung baga we have to win. Ayun nga natuto na kami sa previous games namin,” De Guzman said.
Nur Amin Madsairi scored 15 points for Navy, which bows out with a 0-5 win-loss record.
“Na-enganyo siguro sila, natutuwa yung mga audience sa laban kahit sabihin mo na non-bearing na siya, at least napasaya namin ang audience," De Guzman said. Gabriel Pe
