After a subpar performance in the series opener, Mark Alfafara and skipper John Vic de Guzman bounced back with 24 points apiece as the Ultra Fast Hitters extended the series to a deciding Game Three on Friday.
“Bunga ‘yan ng preparation, off kami last time nawalan kami ng pasa this time we made sure na maco-cover namin ang mga lapses noong nakaraan so it paid off naman,” said PLDT coach Odjie Mamon.
But the veteran mentor insisted no team can claim having momentum at this point.
“Walang momentum-momentum, pagdating kasi ng ano depende na sa condition ng player kung paano ang gising nila. Hopefully makakapag-rest kami tomorrow,” said Mamon.

Marck Espejo led Cignal with an all-around game of 24 points, 16 digs and 17 excellent receptions but his effort went down the drain as they failed to close out the best-of-three series.
