The award-winning BEST Center opens the 19th season of the Women’s Volleyball League on Sunday at the Xavier School High School courts.
The WVL, which has the legendary Florentino ‘Kid’ Santos as commissioner, will have 71 teams competing in four divisions, making this Milo-sponsored event one of the biggest youth volleyball tournaments in the country.
A recipient of the prestigious Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Hall of Fame Award, the WVL will have 13 schools competing in the 13-Under Developmental Division, seven in the 13-Under Competitive Division, 29 in the 17-Under Developmental Division and 22 in the 17-Under Competitive Division.
The Best Center was founded by its president Nic Jorge, a former national basketball coach.
