BANKO Perlas routed Tacloban, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18, on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
American import Lakia Bright led the way for the Spikers with 19 points, 16 digs and eight excellent receptions, while Thai hitter Jutarat Montripila chipped in 13 and Nicole Tiamzon had 10.
“Siguro atat na rin ang mga players ko na bumawi and umpisa na ito ng quarterfinal round so magandang start,” said BanKo Perlas coach Dong dela Cruz.
The Spikers are now 1-0, while the Fighting Warays are 0-1 with the standings reset after the first round.
Top seed Creamline and No. 2 PayMaya clinched outright semifinal berths after topping the first round. The top two from the remaining six teams in the second round robin advance to the semifinals.
Thai import Hyapha Amporn made 12 points for the Fighting Warays.
