BORACAY – Adamson’s Bang Pineda and Amanda Villanueva started their bid to reclaim the Nestea Beach Volleyball women’s title with a 21-10, 21-9 win over Arellano’s Angelica Legacion and Ellaine Sagun on Thursday at Bocaray Beach Chalet.

Legacion and Sagun earlier defeated San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 21-15, 21-11.

The Lady Falcons duo, which lost in the title match to La Salle’s Ara Galang and Kim Fajardo last year, fell behind early, 1-4, but recovered quickly and never looked back.

With the injured Ara Galang watching on the sidelines, Kim Fajardo and new partner Cyd Demecillo fought back from a set down to overcome University of Mindanao-Davao, 17-21, 21-15, 15-11.

University of Santo Tomas downed University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, 21-12, 21-15, and University of Perpetual Help Laguna drubbed Mindanao State University, 21-10, 21-2.

UMD won over University of Baguio, 21-13, 21-11.
