BIÑAN CITY — Altay VC of Kazakhstan proved too much for Jakarta Electrik of Indonesia after an easy, 25-12, 25-17, 25-17, win to start its bid in in the 2016 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship at Alonte Sports Arena on Saturday here.
Sana Anarkulova made 14 points, from eight spikes, two blocks and four aces, for Altay VC while Olga Biryukova added 10.
Kazakhstan dominated the Indonesian team with powerfull kills (45-26), solid blocks (8-1) and well placed service aces (10-2).
Altay VC will face Asian powerhouse Japan on Monday for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals.
Jakarta Electrik team captain Aprilia Manganang single handedly carried the scoring load with 20 of the team's 26 kills to lead the way for the Indonesians.
Indonesia hopes to bounce back on Sunday when it tangles with Japan.
