ATENEO notched its third straight win, downing University of the East, 25-11, 25-15, 25-17, on Wednesday in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan on Wednesday.
Alyssa Valdez had another monster game of 21 points from 13 spikes, three blocks and five service aces, for Ateneo, while A Ahomiro and rookie Ana Gopico added nine markers apiece.
The Lady Eagles had full control of the match, coming up with a dominating game at the net with seven blocks against none by the Lady Warriors. Last year's runners-up also registered 12 service aces, while
UE only had two.
"I want them to improve toghether," said Ateneo coach Tai Bundit. "Every morning we have a meditation before the game."
The Katipunan-based spikers needed only 61 minutes to record their third victory in four outings, joining National University in second spot.
Ma. Shaya Adorador produced six points for the Lady Warriors, who are winless in four matches.
