PHILIPPINE Army crushed Philippine Navy 25-14, 25-14, 25-13 in the opening match of the Shakey’s V League Season 9 Open Conference on Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Michelle Carolino finished with 14 points including four service aces and Rachel Anne Daquis made 13 for the Lady Troopers.
“They’re the ace players of the team,” said coach Sgt. Rico de Guzman. “They’re easy to coach. They already know what to do and they can easily comprehend what I tell them.”
Kiteh Rosales had seven points for the Lady Sailors.
“The six players who were former national team members are in top shape, just a little conditioning and
they’re ready for the next games," said de Guzman, referring to Daquis, sisters Michelle and Mayeth Carolino, Dahlia Cruz, Patricia Torres and team captain Cristina Salak.
