THE UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball title is sweet for Ara Galang especially after coming off an injury that sidelined her for months.

Galang tore knee ligaments at the semifinal stage last year, but recovered well. It wasn’t the same explosive player that rejoined the squad, but her veteran smarts helped the Lady Spikers to the title.

There was concern Galang would not be back for the title decider when she got in the second match of the best-of-three series, but she said that was just a mild leg injury that would not keep her from seeing action in the final match of her college career.

“Mild lang naman ‘yung nangyari sa akin last time so hindi ko na iniisip ‘yun,” said Galang.

Galang is just happy that her UAAP stint ended with a win.

“Thankful ako na na-meet namin ‘yung goal this season.

    “Ito ‘yung bunga,” she added.
