DESPITE La Salle's easy win over Far Eastern University, the Lady Spiker's top hitter Ara Galang was not impressed with her performance in her first game back to UAAP women's volleyball after a long injury layoff.
Galang had 10 points, all from attacks, as La Salle pulled off a straight-set victory over FEU, 29-27, 25-23, 25-20, to start its campaign on a high note on Wednesday at the Philsports Arena.
"Sabi ko hindi ako contented pero first game of the season so medyo understandable pa," said the 21-year old open spiker.
Still, the soft-spoken spiker was glad to finally be back in action after being sidelined for 11 months from ACL/MCL tears and big bone bruises she suffered during their stepladder semifinal against National University last season.
"Sobrang happy syempre excited ako kasi magagawa ko na ulit 'yung dati [at] mapapakita ko pa 'yung talent ko," she said.

The Pampanga native also mentioned that her previous major knee injury won't hold her back from playing all out this season, and giving La Salle not just a scoring boost but also maturity and veteran leadership.
"Wala naman, 'yung fear totally now wala na sa akin," she said.
"Siguro 'yung pagka senior ko rin naman, 'yung mas marami akong experience sa kanila, mas marami akong alam kasi mas matanda na ako so 'yun 'yung mako-contribute ko sa team hindi lang 'yung taga-score pero 'yung nandyan kahit anong mangyari," added Galang.
