Following the Lady Spikers' exit from the Final Four of UAAP Season 86 at the hands of University of Santo Tomas, the dynamic duo will don the national team jersey for the first time in their promising careers.
Beyond the chance to represent their country, they are excited to absorb valuable lessons from this experience.
“Experience talaga nilu-look forward ko kasi ‘yun yung magandang chance na magka-experience kami na makasama yung mga ates namin in the pros, and at the same time, makalaban ‘yung international teams, ” Gagate said.
“It is a big opportunity for us para makita ‘yung kung ano pa yung kulang namin individually and ‘yung kailangan and pwede pang gawin sa sarili namin,” Canino added.

While still processing their UAAP result, Canino revealed that the national team call-up presents a chance for redemption.
“It’s also an opportunity to present kung sino ba talaga kami,” she added.
