BANKO-Perlas beat Adamson University, 25-18, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21, on Sunday for its first win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Former University of the Philippines Lady Maroons Nicole Tiamzon and Kathy Bersola scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Spikers.

Former Lady Falcon Amanda Villanueva had 12 markers against her former team, while Amy Ahomiro added 10 as the Spikers finally won after two losses.

“Siyempre malaking bagay siya kasi seven games lang and we already lost two,” said Bersola, whose team has four games remaining in the elimination round.

“So kumbaga, ideally ‘yun na ‘yung ceiling sa talo for us. So we really wanted to win this, and sana sa upcoming games, makuha ulit namin,” she added.

Down, 7-13, in the fourth set Banko-Perlas clawed its way back to take the lead, 19-15.

“I think nawala ‘yung ingay and then ‘yung fun sa loob kasi nung first two sets, sobrang saya at sobrang ingay namin,” said Bersola, who suited up for the first time for Banko-Perlas.
