    Extra rice for Alyssa Valdez: Volleyball star eats all she desires, yet can still maintain a body to die for

    SHE has back-to-back UAAP titles under her belt and two Most Valuable Player awards as well. She’s talented and charming, and is considered the face of Philippine volleyball today.

    Alyssa Valdez also happens to have well-chiselled abs beneath those uniforms, too.

    Her secret?

    “Wala,” she told Spin.ph smiling. “Wala,hindi naman ako nagda-diet.”

    The hard-hitting spiker, who served as the country’s flag bearer in the recently concluded 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, insisted there is really is no formula to her fit body.

    Apparently, Ateneo Lady Eagles coach Tai Bundit’s Spartan-like training is enough to keep the pride of San Juan, Batangas in the best of shape.

    “’Yung training kasi ni coach Tai conditioning, so every morning we run talaga,” she said. “And ever since high school I keep on running na sa training so that’s why.”

    Alyssa said she eats almost anything, except for super spicy foods.

    “I eat a lot. Pero I eat healthy rin siguro that’s why,” she added.

    On a Thursday night, Valdez,  just had a full meal following a hard training with the women’s national team.

    An hour after, she and teammates Jaja Santiago and Gretcel Soltones headed to a posh restaurant in Ortigas to have another dinner, where Alyssa had chicken wings and one-and-a-half cups of rice.
