ATENEO star Alyssa Valdez was formally crowned top individual player of the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament, getting the MVP trophy and two other awards on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The third year player from San Juan, Batangas not only garnered 100.00 overall Statistical Points to bring home the MVP award, but the Lady Eagles skipper also won the Best Server and Best Scorer awards.

Valdez had 0.74 service aces per set and 269 points from spikes, blocks and service aces.

National University's twin towers Dindin and Jaja Santiago earned the Best Attacker and Rookie of the Year awards, respectively.

The Santiago sisters lost their father early this week and did not attend the awarding ceremony. NU athletic director Junel Baculi and board representative Nilo Ocampo received the awards for the Santiagos.

Meanwhile, another Lady Eagle had her hands full figuratively and literally as Denden Lazaro received the Best Digger and Best Receiver awards.

Kim Fajardo of La Salle was named Best Setter, while Kathy Bersola of University of the Philippines was awarded Best Blocker.
