    Alyssa Valdez named best scorer and server on way to third straight MVP award

    ATENEO star Alyssa Valdez bagged her third successive MVP award on Monday night, adorning one of the most celebrated careers seen in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament.

    The 22-year old pride of San Juan, Batangas was also named the league's best scorer and best server in the final season of a five-year career that has netted her two championships.

    She is gunning for a third one in the best-of-three finals against La Salle.

    La Salle's Dawn Nicole Macandili also won multiple awards for the season, outshining her more heralded teammates by winning the best diger and receiver awards.

    Sharing the honors with the duo were La Salle's Kim Fajardo and May Joy Baron, who were named best setter and best blocker, respectively, and National University's Jaja Santiago who was honored as best spiker.

    Rookie of the Year is Isa Molde of the University of the Philippines.

    In the men's tournament, Ateneo's Marck Espejo also ran away with a hat-trick of awards as he was named MVP while winning best spiker and best server honors.
