CREAMLINE defeated BaliPure-NU, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, to earn an outright semis berth in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Saturday.
Alyssa Valdez had 15 points, while Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin hda 10 markers, 11 digs and seven excellent receptions for the Cool Smashers, who improved their win-loss record to 5-1.
Despite being the first team to secure a semifinal berth, Valdez doesn’t want to consider themselves as the team to beat.
“It’s too early to say that eh kasi papasok pa lang ng semifinals,” she said.
After a single round elimination, the top two teams will automatically advance to the semifinals, while the six remaining teams will play another round with the top two completing the semis cast.
“‘Yung mga teams na matitira maglalaro pa ’yan so mas marami pang exposure, experiences, madami pa silang makukuha na knowledge sa mga games nila so syempre mas magje-jell pa rin sila,” said Valdez.
“Syempre, in a way, medyo scared rin kami na baka ’yung rust na issue namin pumasok doon pero we know naman coach Tai will prepare us for the semifinals,” she added.
Janisa Johnson scored 13 while Alexis Matthews added 10 points for BaluPure-NU, which slid to 3-3.
