THE biggest domino in the 2026 PVL Rookie Draft has officially fallen.
Consensus No. 1 pick Alyssa Solomon has withdrawn from this year's PVL draft, ending weeks of speculation surrounding the future of the former National University star.

Her next destination isn’t in an overseas league just yet as she has also been tapped to join Alas Pilipinas Women as a last-minute entrant, just one day before the draft's application withdrawal deadline.
She is poised be the lone holdover from the Philippine squad that competed in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, joining the pool amid the uncertainty surrounding a PNVF that's been suspended by the FIVB, and soon by the Philippine Olympic Committee.
There is even no certainty that the last pool put together by the PNVF under president Tony Boy Liao will be tapped to play in the AVC Women's Cup in Candon City, now that the national body is run by an ad hoc committee created by the FIVB.
SPIN.ph learned during the PVL Draft Combine that Solomon's decision was influenced by more than just overseas opportunities.
Multiple sources disclosed that there was a standing offer for Solomon to remain within the national team program and forego entering the pro ranks in the meantime altogether.

The proposal supposedly included assurances of compensation packages that could potentially place Solomon within the earning range typically expected of a No. 1 overall pick in the PVL Draft, sources added.
The arrangement was viewed as a way to keep one of the country's brightest young volleyball stars focused on national team duties as the new-look Alas Pilipinas Women prepared for a hectic international window.
That speculation was put to rest on Sunday when Solomon's management team, Hustle and Groove, formally announced her withdrawal from the 2026 PVL Rookie Draft.
The decision takes the consensus top prospect out of this year's draft pool and means Solomon will have to undergo the entire application process again should she decide to pursue a PVL career in the future.
What's next for Solomon?
Despite Solomon's withdrawal, there's no shortage of opportunities waiting abroad.
SPIN.ph learned that the former National University star already has multiple overseas offers on the table, including one from Europe that is believed to be the most attractive option available to her at the moment.
While details of the negotiations remain under wraps, sources said the possibility of another overseas stint ultimately carried more weight than immediately entering the PVL through this year's draft.
For now, however, Solomon is expected to return to national team duties as Alas Pilipinas Women gears up for another busy international calendar.
