ALAS Pilipinas was dealt a beating by five-time champion and Asian powerhouse Thailand, 25-12, 25-18, 25-10 in the 2024 SEA V. League on Friday in Vinh Phúc, Vietnam.

Less than 24 hours after a proper tussle with Vietnam, the nationals ran out of steam against the mighty Thais and couldn't recover from a quick sweep.

National University's one-two punch in Alyssa Solomon and Bella Belen had five points each to pace a dismal loss.
But proving too much for the Philippines were two of Thai volleyball’s all-time greats in Chatchu-on Moksri (11 points) and Ajcharaporn Kongyot (10 points) who had their scoring front covered.
For Alas, Faith Nisperos had her first taste of SEA V.League action and pitched in four points, as well as Thea Gagate who made all two of the nationals’ total block output.
Alas’ hot hands against Vietnam in Dell Palomata and Eya Laure converted just three and two points apiece while Sisi Rondina was held scoreless.
Team captain Jia de Guzman had one point and struggled to activate the nationals’ offense in just one hour and 10 minutes of play.
The Philippines looks to make the most of its last chance for a victory to end Leg 1 against Indonesia on Sunday, 5 p.m. Manila time.
