THERE won’t be any Fil-American players for Alas Pilipinas in the 2025 SEA V.League.

This development, along with the 16-woman national team roster, was confirmed by Alas Pilipinas head coach Jorge Souza de Brito to SPIN.ph on Monday afternoon before heading out to Thailand for the first leg of the regional meet.

"Fil-Ams not yet cleared," de Brito said, pertaining to Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips and Tia Andaya who all saw action in the non-FIVB-sanctioned VTV Cup in Vietnam last month.

Instead, a quintet of UAAP’s finest spikers will lead the way for the nationals in Angel Canino, Bella Belen, Alyssa Solomon and Shaina Nitura.

Also in the mix are Eya Laure, Leila Cruz, Vanie Gandler and Cla Loresco to complete the seven-woman spiker core.

Captain Jia de Guzman continues to set the nationals up from the front along with incoming Akari setter Mars Alba.

Manning the floor for the nationals are Dawn Catindig and Justine Jazareno, the same libero duo fielded in the 2025 VTV Cup.

The new-look quartet of middle blockers will be led by 2025 AVC Nations Cup best middle blocker Dell Palomata, along with Thea Gagate, Fifi Sharma and Maddie Madayag.

Who missed the cut?

Among the key player cuts were setter Lams Lamina, middle blocker Amie Provido and spiker Alleiah Malaluan along with Alas' Fil-Am trio of Van Sickle, Phillips and Andaya.

For the latter three, their paperworks are still yet to be fully processed by the FIVB in order to be cleared to play for the national team as full-fledged locals.

Libero Jen Nierva and setter Julia Coronel also didn't make the roster.

With FIVB world ranking points in the offing, Alas Pilipinas enters the 2025 SEA V.League as the 47th-ranked team in the world and eighth in Asia.

Leg 1 runs from August 1 to 3 in Thailand, followed by Leg 2 from August 8 to 10 in Vietnam.
