ALAS Pilipinas Men will have less than a month to cut its 21-man provisional player pool down to the final 14 for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in September.
Just last week, the Philippines along with the rest of the tournament-record 32-team field unveiled their extended rosters for the global conclave.

All teams will now have roughly a month to make the last few cuts, with the FIVB setting a September 10 deadline for the submission of the final 14-man lineups.
Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara confirmed the deadline during the country’s ‘Set Na Natin ‘To’ one-month launch before the country’s FIVB Worlds hosting goes underway on Sep. 12.

“The final roster is only two days before [the tournament]. Lahat ng teams 'yan. September 10, sa preliminary inquiry so du’n natin malalaman,” Suzara said.
“The top stars are already coming [to the Philippines by then] but the final 14 will only come on September 10."
Frigoni to make final cuts in Europe camp
Alas Men is currently on its final training camp in Europe, with stops in Morocco, Romania and Portugal, ahead of the FIVB Worlds.
There, head coach Angiolino Frigoni brought his 21-man player pool and is expected to make his last seven cuts there.
The Nationals’ provisional squad for the global conclave includes the following players:

Suzara has high hopes for Alas’ continued development before locking horns with some of the world’s best volleyball teams.
“Our Alas Men's team is in Portugal and Romania. They're working so hard so that they can improve our level and I hope we can really play better for the World Championships,” he said.

There won’t be any shoo-ins for Frigoni as he’ll use the last few weeks of Alas’ European camp to form his best 14 for the world stage.
“I can select [about] 18 players, that's okay, because we have a big group in case somebody gets injured, in case they are out of condition, and everything. I will make a list, a big list, 18 players," Frigoni previously said.
“From there, I will select. If they will have more opportunity to play [before the Worlds], they have more chances to be on the [final] 14 for the World Championship.”
