ALAS Pilipinas Women head coach Jorge Souza de Brito was notified last October that he’ll be relieved of his duties at the end of 2025.
It meant de Brito had long known that the 33rd Southeast Asian Games would be his last tournament as Alas coach, based on a formal notice from the former Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) leadership under Tats Suzara.

SPIN.ph obtained a copy of the termination letter issued to de Brito dated October 15, 2025 and signed by his then secretary-general Jose Donaldo Caringal.
The letter made the Brazilian coach's reign as Alas Women coach co-terminus with the term of Suzara, who was ousted as PNVF coach in elections held last month.
The decision also effectively took away the decision of whether De Brito would be asked to stay on or not out of the hands of the incoming PNVF leadership led by Premier Volleyball League (PVL) co-founder Tony Boy Liao.

'This letter serves to formally notify you that the Board has decided to terminate your contract with the Alas Pilipinas Women’s National Team effective December 31, 2025, instead of the previously contemplated date of July 2026.
This decision aligns with the completion of the campaign for the 33rd South East Asian Games in Thailand. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your service and dedication to the sport. Your stewardship of the program has contributed to multiple milestones for the National Team, and has helped elevate Philippine volleyball on the regional stage.
We wish you continued success for your future endeavors. Thank you again for your contributions, and best wishes!'
