ADAMSON moved on the verge of the Shakey's Super League National Invitationals crown, winning a tense title series opener in five sets over La Salle, 22-25, 25-17, 17-25, 27-25, 16-14, on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Meanwhile, Shevana Laput's career-high 30-point outing was laid to waste as the Lady Spikers squandered a 2-1 set lead and will fight for survival in three days' time.
