ADAMSON University swept University of Santo Tomas, 25-6, 25-23, 25-23, to end its UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball campaign on a winning note on Saturday at Ateneo’s Blue Eagle gym.
The Lady Falcons ended a three-match skid and finished the tournament with a 6-8 card, exacting revenge on UST, which defeated the Lady Falcons in straight sets in the first round.
It was a fine final performance for the Lady Falcons as they bid graduating players Jema Galanza, Mylene Paat, Fenela Emnas and Jellie Tempiatura goodbye.
Ely Soyud led the team with 14 points, while Paat had 13 and Galanza finished with 12 markers.
“It was bittersweet,” said Adamson coach Air Padda.
“They were playing to get into the Final Four today and that’s the team that I wish would’ve showed up in all the other opportunities we had.”
“I know not making the Final Four was like a really, really, really big sayang. You know, heartbreaking,” she added.
Sisi Rondina finished with 15 points for UST, which settled for the seventh place in the eight team league with a 4-10 win-loss record.
