JAJA Santiago is set to return to Japan to play her third straight season as import of Ageo Medics in the Japan V. Premier League.
“I would like to announce na I renewed my contract with Ageo Medics,” said the 6-foot-5 middle blocker in a post on her club team Chery Tiggo’s Instagram page.
“I’m very happy kasi siyempre my Chery family sinuportahan nila ako all throughout my career dito sa Pilipinas and yung sa naging desisyon ko na para pumirma sa Ageo Medics ulit,” she added.
Posts on her Instagram stories revealed Santiago has already started packing her things and could be flying out within the week.

In her second year as Ageo’s import, Santiago helped her club clinch a bronze medal in the V.Premier League - a huge leap from a seventh place finish in her rookie season last 2018.
The Japan V.Premier League 2020-2021 season is scheduled to kick off on October despite the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Santiago regrets missing on the chance to help Chery Tiggo in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, which was scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic last March.
“Nakakapanghinayang kasi nung umuwi ako last February, dapat maglalaro ako sa PSL Grand Prix for Chery pero yun nga, naabutan tayo ng lockdown so hindi tayo nakapaglaro,” the Philippine women’s volleyball team star said.
Santiago vowed to be back in the PSL next year, expressing hope that things would be back to normal by then.
“I promise naman na pagbalik ko dito next year. Hopefully maging normal na lahat bumalik na yung mga work ng mga nawalan ng trabaho,” she said.
“And yung volleyball natin, yung training natin pag nagkabalik na lahat sa normal makikita nyo ulit kami at ako sa Philippine volleyball court lumalaban, nakikipagpatayan sa laro.”
