NO FILIPINO runner was hurt in the blast that occurred near the finish line of the famed Boston Marathon.

Triathlete Arland Macasieb wrote on his Facebook account that all Filipinos that competed in the race are safe and accounted for.

Macasieb, who competed in the marathon, said that a team mostly composed of Fil-Americans raced in the 117th running of the popular race.

“Craziness at the Boston Marathon finish line! I am safe and most of the Fil am Tri team are also safe and accounted for. Thank you everyone for your concern,” Macasieb wrote.

Two bombs exploded near the finish line on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) killing at least three people and injuring at least 130 as per the last count of the Associated Press.

The Philippine Consulate General in New York also released a statement saying it has received no reports of Filipino casualties from the explosions.

“There were also six volunteer nurses from the Philippine Nurses Association-New England Chapter led by Eden Gianan who were in the area at the time of the explosions. All were reported to be safe,” the consulate’s statement said.
