“Wala munang pelikula until the end of June,” he added.

The movie and TV star said he is motivated to perform in the world championship especially now that he is already 40 years old.

“I played both grass and beach and I just turned 40 in December so maraming nagsasabi, matanda ka na Derek and it’s really hard chasing kids who live in the beach.

“Pero we joined a tournament in Ilocos, I played in it and the coach asked me if I want to take part and ask me if I can give it one last chance and go for the gold. I gave some thought and I accepted,” Ramsay said.

Ramsay is actually not new to the sport, having represented the Philippines in the world championships in the beach and grass frisbee three times in each division.

Thirty-nine countries will participate in the world championship and Ramsay expressed confidence with the chances of the Boracay Dragons in the competition.

“Kilalang kilala ang Pilipinas pagdating sa beach. Sikat sila all over. Teams fly in all over in April to play in the Boracay Open and try to beat the Dragons and hindi pa sila natatalo,” said Ramsay.
