SERENA WILLIAMS copped her second consecutive singles crown, defeating Coco Vandeweghe, 7-5 6-3, in the final of the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, California.
Williams dominated the tournament by not dropping a single set to follow up her Wimbledon conquest last week.
She only lost three games before the final but Vandeweghe was able to break twice in the first before Williams recovered to win the set.
Next up for Williams is the London Olympics.
In other tennis news, John Isner defeated Lleyton Hewitt, 7-6 6-4, to win the ATP Hall of Fame Championships for the second straight time in Newport, Rhode Island.
