THE UAE Royals continued their unbeaten run in the Manila leg of the International Premier Tennis League after whipping the Singapore Slammers, 28-22, Saturday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Reigning US Open champion Marin Cilic defeated Tomas Berdych, 6-4, before teaming up with Nenad Zimonjic to down Berdych and Bruno Suarez, 6-5.

Kristina Miladenovic downed Daniela Hantuchova, 6-1, in the women’s singles, while Goran Ivanisevic wrapped up the tie with a 6-5 win over Patrick Rafter in the legends’ singles.

The Royals’ only lost came when Mladenovic and Zimonjic dropped a 5-6 decision to Hantuchova and Nick Kyrgios, who replaced Suarez midway in their doubles match due to a unique substitution rule of the league.

The Royals remained undefeated in two ties for eight points after beating the Manila Mavericks, 29-24, on Friday.
